Our main office is located at 400 Imperial Plaza in Bellaire, OH and we also operate a satellite office inside the VA Clinic in St. Clairsville.
The Belmont County Veterans Service Office is here to assist veterans and the unremarried surviving spouses of veterans.
The main office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Appointments are requested.
The satellite office is open Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m..

VA Claims - The Belmont County Veterans Service Office can help fill out the proper paperwork needed to receive your benefits including enrollment in VA Health Care, Disability Benefits Service Connected Compensation Claims, Non-Service Connected Compensation Claims, Dependents and Survivors Benefits, Dependency and Indemnity Compensation Death Pension, Education and Training, Survivors and Dependents Educational Assistance, Home Loan Guarantee.
Financial Assistance - BCVSO can provide financial assistance to eligible veterans and their dependents, who are residents of Belmont County, have been living here at least 90 days, and were discharged from active duty under honorable conditions. The veteran must have a copy of his/her DD214 or equivalent to determine eligibility. The following is a list of what we need to provide financial assistance: DD214, a copy of all utility/medical bills, landlord information or mortgage receipts, proof of household income (at least three pay stubs or VA/Social Security award letter). If you are requesting payment of a utility bill we must have the original bill, name, date of birth, and social security number of all dependents or people living in your household. The income thresholds now follow HEAP guidelines (Divide annual income by 12 to determine monthly eligibility).
Transportation – BCVSO runs two vans to Pittsburgh VAMC daily. Transportation is by appointment only and is for Belmont County veterans only. No guests are permitted on the vans*. Pick up points for transportation are: Bellaire – at the veterans office at 5:40 a.m.. St. Clairsville-Riesbecks Parking Lot, 6 a.m. and Martins Ferry- CVS Parking Lot at 6:15 a.m.The second van uses the same pick up locations. Please note the second van may run concurrent with first unless enough afternoon appointments require a later van. If that is the case, the pick-up times for the second van are: Bellaire – 8:40 a.m.; St. Clairsville – 9 a.m. and Martins Ferry- CVS Parking Lot -9:15 a.m.
*Chaperones or escorts are not permitted on the regular vans. Escorts are only permitted for veterans who are having surgery that requires sedation. A special van will be used. The office must be notified at least two-weeks in advance and there must be a note from the doctor detailing the exact reason for the need to have an escort.
Flag cases — The Belmont County Veterans Office will provide a free flag case and flag holder to the families of deceased Belmont County Veterans. We will also provide them to the families of Belmont County veterans buried in other cemetery not located in Belmont County.
